Policies

At Happy Tail Pet Grooming you can rest assured that you will receive the best quality service every time. Our policies are put in place because we care about the dogs. They are our #1 priority. By having policies and sticking to them, we are able to reduce stress and offer a more pleasant grooming experience for your pet.

*Appointments

All bath, haircuts, and quick services such as nail grinding are by appointment only. All grooming sessions require a minimum of 4 hours to complete. We like to devote our full attention to your pets and in order to do that we do not overbook.

 

*Cancelations/No Shows

Because we work by appointment, canceling or rescheduling needs to be done at least 24hrs prior to your appointment. This enables us to fill your appointment time. We understand emergencies happen and while last minute cancellations are a part of life, we expect them to be uncommon. For clients that make a habit of not canceling with notice or no-showing for their appointment may result in a fee.

*Drop Off/Pick Up

​ Please be on time for your appointment. Arriving 15 minutes or later your appointment may be canceled and you will be considered a no show.

For everyone's safety please have your pet on a leash or carrier upon entering or exiting the building. The parking lot can get busy and we would all be devastated if something happened to your pet.

Please make your best effort to potty your pets before they come for their appointment. There is space nearby the building suitable to potty your dog. If your dog has an accident, please ask for supplies to clean it up.

Our after closing pick-up fee is $30 dollars. After the first hour, an additional $10 will be charged every 15 minutes. We ask that you pick up your pet as soon as possible for we don’t have the facilities to walk the pets.

*Matting

We don’t like to tug, pull, and hurt pets in order to get rid of matts. If a pet is severely matted, we'll shave him/her. Shaving a matted coat includes risks of nicks, cuts, or abrasions. Matting can also trap moisture near your pet’s skin allowing bacteria to grow revealing irritations to skin prior to grooming. After effects of mat removal can include itchiness, skin redness, self-inflicted irritations/abrasions, and/or brief behavioral changes. We may also charge an additional matting fee depending on the condition due to extended time and care.

  • As the owner, you are responsible for the condition of your pet’s coat and cannot hold Happy Tail Pet Grooming responsible in the event of adverse effects of the mat removal.​

*Ear Plucking/Anal Glands

Routine ear plucking and external anal gland expression are included with all grooming packages unless otherwise specified. Some breeds have little to no hair to be plucked. Please speak with your veterinarian if you are unsure about these procedures. 

*Behavior

We reserve the right to groom pets if we believe it may be hazardous for the pet or stylist, if the pet is sick, or has open wounds/injuries/stitches. Aggressive dogs will not be tolerated and will be sent home if the situation becomes unsafe. Owners will be held liable for any bites or property damage caused by their pets. We do work with sharp tools around sometimes wiggly pets and take every precaution necessary. Please understand that if your pet does not respond to the grooming and remain still during the grooming procedure that accidents may happen. In that case, Happy Tail Pet Grooming will not be held responsible for accidents that may happen while your pet is in the shop.
